EMU has had an accreditation policy in place for a number of years. To date, accreditation has been awarded to EMU's Engineering Faculty by ABET, to the Faculty of Tourism by TEDQUAL, and by ASIIN to programmes in the School of Computing and Technology.
These accreditations attract students to the departments in question, and positively impact on the reputation of EMU, as well as on its international ranking and prestige as an international English medium university.
As part of this 'internationalising' policy, the previous EPS Administration set in place an accreditation policy through the EAQUALS scheme, leading to a preliminary visit and report being issued; in the process, a great deal of work was done and documentation compiled. We hope now to build further on this work and make use of the all efforts made during this period. Our thanks to all those involved for taking the most difficult step of all - initiating a new and very large-scale process of change to our institution, and in particular to Huseyin Demirel, Sezgi Yalin and Nevin Adalar for setting SFL down the 'accreditation road'.
